Still pretty good but my least favorite so far

I loved the beginning, when they're world crossed into the world of another of King's stories. I loved the end, when it seemed to be crossing into a world every 20th century person knows well. But the middle just dragged for me. The story was fine, and I'm glad I know it now, since it will help to characterize Roland more than we were able before. But it was just too long. That may have been King's point, but I just found myself bored through the story of Roland's first love.

Very satisfying story, both in terms of filling in a bunch of info on Roland, as well as simply because it was such a complete, rich story of the place and the people. King's world-building is so solid that you completely accept the strange mixture of Arthurian legend, spaghetti western, and some weird idea that the whole thing is taking place in the distant future. It all held together, and i read the hell out of it.

As good as the first time

This is the second time I have read these books and this book Wizard and Glass is my favorite of them all. Its suspenseful, romantic,scary and as always full of Stephen Kings wonderful descriptive words that bring his stories and their world's from imagination to reality. I also love how in the end every Stephen King book is somehow tied to the tower...must be ka.
